EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing. It's a research based therapy tool that helps clients to re-integrate 'stuck' or 'undigested' memories.
My Therapeutic Approach & Philosophy
Adlerian Theory
Alfred Adler was a renowned psychologist who believed that there was a reason for everything a person does. He truly believed both that unconditional confidence in man is essential for community feeling, and also that every man participates in self-sabotaging behaviors because they are working towards a less obvious goal.
My Education & Experience
In 2013 I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Theater at Seattle Pacific University, and in 2017 finished my Master’s degree in Counseling through Colorado Christian University. I completed my Practicum and internship with Light of the Rockies Christian Counseling Center, and went on to work with them until January of 2022, when I launched my private practice.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and practice in the state of Colorado. I was trained in EMDR through the Maiberger Institute in Boulder, Colorado in 2021 and I greatly enjoy working with clients within this clinical frame.
With my background in the arts, I have cultivated a great empathic understanding for others and strive to be fully present in the ‘here-and-now’ with each individual. I enjoy making space for the individual who looks to cultivate a healthier relationship with the self.
“In a desert land he found him, in a barren and howling waste. He shielded him and cared for him; he guarded him as the apple of his eye, like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them aloft. The Lord alone led him; no foreign god was with him” (Deuteronomy 32:10-12, NIV).
